This wine represents the ultimate expression of a unique territory, shaped by the powerful volcanic soil of the Lazio region. It’s a special wine, made exclusively from the finest Montepulciano and Shiraz grapes hand-selected from the same vineyards as the standard Roma DOC vintage.
Tasting Notes
- Appearance: A deep ruby red with elegant garnet reflections.
- Aroma: The nose is ethereal and rich, with intense scents of very ripe red fruit, cherries in alcohol, black cherries, and plums. The long aging process in wood adds complex spicy notes of pepper and cloves, as well as toasted, smoky, and empyreumatic notes of tobacco, chocolate, and coffee.
- Taste: This is a wine of great balance and immense complexity. It’s a special occasion wine, with the ability to age for decades in the bottle while maintaining a fresh, clean style and a refined finish.
